Z-WARD INSANE ASYLUM
Z-WARD INSANE ASYLUM
Following the incredible success of our previous workshop series at Z-Ward we are holding another night. This has been the most requested workshop we have held. We have heard this may be one the last events ever held at the venue. before closing to the public for ever.
Built in 1884, the infamous Z-Ward was a hospital for the ‘criminally insane’. Access has been strictly limited over the past 20 years - until now. The darkened corridors and cramped cells connect us to a shadowy past, complete with stories of murder, mayhem and madness. If these walls could whisper...
Whether you’re a novice or a pro, this is an unmissable night-time photography experience. We’ll provide a stunning display of light painting tools for you to use to ensure you go home with a memory card jam-packed with your own sensational images. With limited numbers we will be on hand to ensure your visions are realised.
The last time Z-Ward was open to the public, a 5000-strong queue snaked around the block - at this event, you’ll be one of a group of just 12. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to take a step back in time with Denis Smith and his team, explore a range of cutting edge light painting techniques and help to maintain this iconic local landmark.
Lights out and lock the door - welcome to Z-Ward!
Attendees limited to 18 per night; 3 mentors present at all time. A proportion of all ticket sales is donated to the National Trust for the upkeep of the Z-Ward site.
