TOOL SHOP UPDATE

Wow! The last 5 weeks have been completely crazy. When we decided to launch The Ball of Light Tool I simply had no idea the demand would be so high. Tools are landing in all corners of the globe and the results I am seeing are simply incredible.

This has however meant that every waking hour I am not working on my "day job" is spent in the studio building tools. I have loved it. But the launch of other products for the shop has taken a bit of a back seat.

This week I have finally found a few hours to focus on the next steps.

Jason Page from Light Painting Brushes and I are in the final stages of bringing the entire system down under. I swear by these products. Jason has designed a light painting tool system that is simply second to none. The main constraint to bringing these down under is the freight cost. We are working hard so that those of you in Australasia can save a bundle by purchasing them here from Australia. Jason is a legend of our artform and I am so proud to be stocking and selling his tools in Australia and New Zealand. We are working hard to try and get some of these down for Christmas. I know Jason is busy and he builds these by hand.

An addition to the shop I am super excited about are the Lightflutes. Many of you have seen these incredible tools in my work, and we have sold so many of these at workshops, but a great friend who designed and manufactured these has delivered my first large order. These are probably the simplest of all light painting tools, yet take time to build and the results are simply mind bending.

Lightflutes utilise the Light Painting Brushes Universal Connector so can be used with any torch. They are waterproof, indestructible and outrageously easy to use. These will be coming in 5 different styles and will be sold as a set initially.

Another addition to the shop will be the Arclight Tool. These tools are best known as Light Blades. From the first time I saw Patrick Rochon and his Lightblades I was hooked. These are once again incredibly simple tools that use the Universal Connector by Light Painting Brushes so are accessible with any torch.

The first batch of these will be coming to the shop in about 3 weeks. Join the mailing list to keep up to date.

As most of you know I have been a huge fan of LED Lenser torches for many years. I absolutely thrash these torches and will be selling my 4 favorites on the shop. It is super important to realise I advocate that you can create incredible light painting images with the most basic torches. But when you want a bit of grunt, or some color from your torch, there is no substitute for LED Lenser.
