The Liquid Light series is having another burst of exposure again. @wired just pushed the article they did about it again, I sent off an interview yesterday about it for a large international news source. I wonder what grabs people attention about it?

Obviously, like most light painting, it is pretty eye grabbing. But I reckon it is that most times the fact it is a real thing is attached. Especially in long form, non social formats. I love that moment when people are looking at our art form, gazing into it, then they realise that what we have created is all in the moment, not later in photoshop.

That moment is priceless.

Thank you for the love and support.

Peace, Denis

24 hours from now I’ll be back here, the Flinders Ranges under a full moon. Making tutorials, images and breathing in. There are few places I can escape from the world. And this is the place, always has been. It’s my safe place.

I hope your weekend is full of love, light and laughs.

I look forward to sharing the magic with you on my return.

Peace, Denis

View fullsize How are there two? I get asked this a lot, closely followed by “but we don’t see you”. The immediate thought is post editing to blend two images.

This is a single exposure. And it is pretty dark. It was quite overcast ,which made the moonlight very soft.

The workflow is to open the shutter, walk down, hop up on one of the walls and spin the first orb then jump down and up onto the other and spin. You don’t see me because I am constantly moving and wearing dark clothes.

Then I just wait for the moonlight to fill the scene. 298 seconds.

It was a very tight spot to spin, but I was at the end of a week of pretty constant spinning so felt in fire.

This was at the Linderhof Palace in Bavaria as part of a trip Kyrie and I took after being Munich doing an interview with @redbull.tv_ about my Light Painting in 2011. What a trip.

Of the myriad of things I love about Light Painting a standout is just unique every image is. I don’t know if controlled randomness is a thing?
