The Ikara-Flinders Ranges is a location of many of my images. It is a deeply spiritual place. This location was a special location for me. Many nights spent sitting in balmy heat looking out across the ancient landscape, knowing that 50,000 years ago the First Nations People of this country sat where I was.

The name Adnyamathanha means rock people (wikipedia page) and the local people have deep connection with the rocky landscape. It is a powerful place full of wonder, history and mythology.

This image, as always, is a single long exposure under a very bright moon. It looks across to Wilpena Pound, and St Marys peak.

In the accompanying video to this image (link comes with print) I tell the story of just how precarious it is climbing down that cliff face in the dark. Eek.
