Here are a bunch of random, but awesome videos I have made that are just being creative, behind the scenes bits and pieces and even some really old and hilarious things I made back in the beginning. Have fun.

ASTRO LIGHT PAINTING CHALLENGE

One of the things I don’t miss about social media is people being so bold to make statements like “you cant shoot astro with micro 4/3 sensors”. About 38 seconds after reading that, I booked ticket on the ferry and headed out for a try. I love a challenge.

LIQUID LIGHT BEHIND THE SCENES

I made this short selection of BTS snippets for a Liquid Light exhibition. There is heaps fo cool stuff in here.

COPLEY LIGHT PAINTING

I recently travelled to the Northern Flinders, to a remote community called Copley. Copley is in the shadows of one of the largest, and recently abandoned, open cut coal mines in Australia and they are dealing with a future of UCG (Underground Coal Gasification). A dirty, dangerous and unnecessary thing. My great friend Dave Laslett (http://www.davelaslett.com/) invited me up to help create a series of videos to help give this First Nations community a voice in their fight. On our first night we broke out the light painting tools and spread some love, light and laughs. Thanks for the great video Dave, you my friend are amazing!

THE BRACHINA NIGHT (2011)

From the earliest days of my light painting I travelled to the Flinders Ranges, lands of the Adnyamathanha people. This is a really early video I made on one of my trips. I giggle at this now.

A ROUGH NIGHT IN ROBE (2011)

I love the sea, deeply. Making light painting images near the water is incredibly rewarding! And can be dangerous. This is from 2011, a wild time for me.

TOXIC LAND (2011)

On a recent Ball of Light trip I was confronted by a VERY different scene than I was expecting. This location reminded me of the disgusting way that we treat our land. Why was this site left in this condition? Why is it not cleaned up now. Maybe there was a sound reason?

WAUKARINGA BEHIND THE SCENES (2012)

An abandoned mine, on a mega hot and bright night!

THE RUIN BEHIND THE SCENES (2012)

Ruins are a favorite of mine to shoot at, and this particular one was on my agenda for a long time before the right night presented itself. Open spaces, bright moon and a clear night. Nice! Enjoy.

PAINTING WITH LIGHT (2012)

This video is a demonstration of the process of creating a light painting. The use of a timelapse method, which involves compositing, is not normal for Ball of Light images. All Ball of Light images are created from a single exposure unless stated.

LIVE COMPOSITE DEMO

The live composite feature on Olympus cameras allows us to create in very bright environments, here is a stunning example of that.
